Welcome to an exciting and important part of your child's life as they prepare to receive the sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist for the first time to grow as disciples!
The First Reconciliation & Communion program at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Parish follows the guidelines of the Diocese of Austin, and these guidelines govern who may receive the Sacrament. Children will prepare to receive the sacrament of Reconciliation first followed by preparation to receive the Eucharist. Please read below to ensure your child is eligible to receive First Communion.
Children must be in at least the 2nd grade and have attended faith formation for the year prior (normally 1st Grade) to Sacrament preparation and the year during Sacrament preparation (normally 2nd Grade).
If you child is in the 2nd grade or higher and has not attended faith formation prior, please contact Darren Seibert after you have registered for faith formation to discuss the pathway that your child will need to receive First Communion.
Children must be Baptized.
If your child is not Baptized, please refer to the Becoming Catholic for Children pages for more information.
