RSVP for Easter Day Mass
HERE
To have a more relaxed and orderly holiday, we are using a registration system for church seating at the 8:30 AM and 11 AM Easter Day masses. To get seats and have a calmer Easter, please sign up your entire family online by April 8. No one will be turned away for lack of registration, but those not registered may be seated in the PAC.
We will celebrate Ash Wednesday Mass at 7 AM, 12:15 PM and 6 PM. The act of putting on ashes symbolizes fragility and mortality, and the need to be redeemed by the mercy of God. The Church uses ashes to symbolize that attitude of internal penance to which all the baptized are called during Lent. Due to its beautiful symbolism, this is often the third most attended liturgy of the yar, but this is not a holy day of obligation, contrary to popular belief. We look forward to joining in this penitential season together.
Bishop Vásquez is asking the faithful of the Diocese of Austin to join Pope Francis in marking this coming Ash Wednesday as a day for prayer and fasting, not only for the beginning of Lent, but also, for the end of war in Ukraine. Bishop Vásquez explains, “I join our Holy Father in petitioning all people to pray for an end to the war and aggression in Ukraine! And may our brothers and sisters who are experiencing upheaval know the loving presence and protection of the Mother of God in their suffering.”
Holy Hour For Peace in Ukraine
There will be a Holy Hour for Peace in Ukraine, with rosary and music on Wednesday, March 2, Ash Wednesday, in the church following the 6 PM Mass. We will pray for the people of Ukraine, the souls of those who have died or have been wounded in the conflict, as well as a resolution to the conflict.

Each Friday of Lent, we abstain from eating meat as a way to experience a little of the hunger that many experience daily. Give the money you saved each week by not eating meat—about $3 per person per meal—to your CRS Rice Bowl to feed those in need around the world. Lenten alms donated through CRS Rice Bowl support the work of CRS in more than 100 different countries each year. Twenty-five percent of donations to CRS Rice Bowl stay in the local diocese, supporting hunger and poverty alleviation efforts. Rice Bowls can be picked up starting on Ash Wednesday and throughout the first Sunday of Lent, and can be returned throughout Holy Week."In addition to using and returning the CRS Rice Bowl boxes, donations to CRS Rice Bowl can be made through WeShare, under the Second Collections section on the Giving Opportunities page:

During Lent, we will be praying the Liturgy of the Hours before all Masses. We are hoping the beauty of this liturgical prayer of the Church will help us all more deeply engage in the liturgical season at hand. The psalms, prayers, and antiphons of these hours are compiled in a way that helps the individual grasp the penitential and ascetical meaning of Lent more deeply, thus disposing us to more actively participate in the Mass that will follow.
Youth Passion Play
All are invited to enter deeper into Holy Week by attending the Passion Play, organized and performed by the high school youth ministry. The teens will present a living Stations of the Cross along with powerful reflections to help us prepare for Easter Sunday. Hope you will join us for this free event!
