Ministry for Young Adults with Special Needs and Their FamiliesServant of God Léonie Martin (Sr. Francois Therese)
Born the middle child, was difficult, and sickly. Less gifted than her sisters, Saint Zélie Martin, her mother, called her "poor Léonie". In reality Léonie is rich in an evangelical poverty to whom Christ promises the Kingdom. The new "saint" of trust and the impossible, Léonie Martin testifies to the incredible effectiveness of grace. She is the sister of St. Therese of the Child Jesus and was a Visitandine nun in Caen. The trials of her life forged a desire for holiness. Considered as the first disciple of Saint Teresa, she became an authentic daughter of Saint Francis de Sales and Saint Jeanne de Chantal at the Visitation. Léonie's simple life attracts the simplest to the path of abandonment in the arms of God's Love and in turn arouses in those who discover her the confident desire to take this same path of holiness.
She was believed to have an Autism Spectrum Disorder.

This ministry is open to young adults with special needs 18-35 years of age. Our hope is to provide a ministry for spiritual growth, fellowship and support after high school. Since parents are often involved in continued caregiving, this provides a time for them to meet with other parents who can provide spiritual and emotional support as well as guidance in resources available in the area.
