The Texas Catholic Conference of Bishops is asking the faithful across the nation to call their Members of Congress next Monday, February 26, to protect Dreamers from deportation, to provide them a path to citizenship, and to avoid any damage to existing protections for families and unaccompanied minors in the process. “Our faith compels us to stand with the vulnerable, including our immigrant brothers and sisters. We have done so continually, but we must show our support and solidarity now in a special way. Now is the time for action.”
His Holiness Pope Francis announced that Friday, February 23, will be a day of prayer and fasting for peace, in particular for the populations of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and South Sudan. Catholics in good health from age 18 until age 59 are obliged to fast and pray. The Friday Stations of the Cross are an excellent prayer for peace. The faithful are asked to spend time in prayer on Friday, February 23. Perhaps consider offering the day’s work and trials for the people who are suffering in these regions.
“To All Who Supported K2K Mission Hope Clean Water Project, The K2K Mission Team owes a huge THANK YOU to all who helped us with this project. Our three villages have Clean Cool Mountain Spring water and our mamas have pilas (sinks)! Wow! This is so wonderful! Many do not understand how fantastic this is for these loving people who just happen to be very poor with no one else to help them, not even their own government. But God always puts a plan together calling on all of us in many ways to help His Little Ones. You, who have been a part of this incredible project can rest assured that you have answered His Call to Mission by helping the Q’eqchi people through Kids to Kids Mission Hope. God bless you in Faith, Hope, Love and Joy!" Maria and the Captain and the K2K Team
