Bishop Joe S. Vásquez issued a decree on April 30 resuming the public celebration of Mass on May 5. Churches that open must adhere with state guidelines, including the 25% capacity threshold, the use of masks and social distancing. Click to read the Decree and the letter from Bishop Vásquez. Regular Mass Times and Confessions will also resume on May 5 with modifications. Listen to our podcast for more information.
At the conclusion of the Holy Thursday Mass of the Lord’s Supper, we will place the Tabernacle in the window of Zurek and light it up. We will livestream our tabernacle so you can pray from home. Also if you would desire, you can drive to the parish and spend some time in prayer in your vehicle. We ask that you stay in your vehicle so we will not violate the 10 person/6 feet distance guidelines. We hope this will provide some solace in this time of quarantine. The lights will be on until midnight.
The Chrism Mass (April 7 at 10:30 AM) will be celebrated by the Bishop at Saint Mary Cathedral in Austin with his Episcopal Vicars. It will be broadcast for all the priests and the faithful to participate. In participating in this celebration, may we reflect in thanksgiving for the sacraments that we have received and pray for the conversion of others to the faith.
