If a youth attends a public or private school, the youth needs to register for his or her youth ministry program and grade level that matches the academic grade in which they attend school.
If a youth homeschools, the youth needs to register for the grade level that they would be in if attending a public or private school.
See below for the normal cut off dates to determine which academic grade the youth is in.
If a homeschool student’s date of birth is near the cutoff date and the parents consider that child in the next grade, parents may schedule a time to speak with the formation staff to discuss the appropriate registration.

Intermediate School Ministry (ISM)= Youth born between 9/1/12 – 8/31/14
5th graders = 9/1/13 – 8/31/14
6th graders = 9/1/12 – 8/31/13
Middle School Ministry (MSM)= Youth born between 9/1/10 - 8/31/12
7th graders = 9/1/11 – 8/31/12
8th graders = 9/1/10 – 8/31/11
High School Ministry (HSM)= Youth born between 9/1/06 – 8/31/10
9th graders = 9/1/09 – 8/31/10
10th graders = 9/1/08 – 8/31/09
11th graders = 9/1/07 – 8/31/08
12th graders = 9/1/06 – 8/31/07
Youth should attend the youth ministry weekly programs and special events that match their registration and grade level.
